EVENTS DIARY – CALENDAR

Event dates need to be changed from time to time because of poor weather conditions & unforeseen causes.
If you have booked your calendar to attend a particular event, please check here or contact the relevant contact number for each event a week prior, to ensure the event is able to go ahead as planned.

EVENT DIARY 2019 DATES

SATURDAY 26th January 2019. Australia Day Celebrations Woodenbong.

Woodenbong Australia Day activities. Ambassador: TBA
08:30 am: RSL Billy Tea and Damper at Woodenbong Public Hall.
10:00 am: Assemble in front of the Public Hall for Flag Raising
10:15 am: Official proceedings commence followed by Lunch/Refreshments in Supper room and Entertainment by John Howley.
12:30 pm: Cricket Coaching Clinic at the Oval behind the Swimming Pool (for school age)
01.30 pm: City versus Country at the WCG (oval behind the swimming pool)
Everyone is welcome to attend. Free sausage sizzle.
Swimming Pool will be open with free entry for the day.
After the Cricket:  Meet at Woodenbong Hotel for dinner, entertainment and drawing of the raffle.
Raffle: TBA Proceeds to Woodenbong Rural Fire Brigade and Woodenbong Public Hall.

23rd February 2019. Seasonal “Yowie Country” Market.

Summer Masked Market.

Wear a mask or make a mask on the craft table.
Seasonal “Yowie Country” Market. Woodenbong Public Hall 8am-2pm.
Variety of stalls, hot food, espresso coffee and a great country atmosphere. Live music, playground on-site. All weather venue.

“End of Each Season” 3 monthly Routine will be the LAST Saturday of the months of February, May, August and November.

Sunday 5th May 2019. 26th Woodenbong Annual Show

Showground. Equestrian events starting 8am with two ring program. Jumping. All Breeds Ring. Mini Horse Show. 2pm Novelty Sporting events.
8am Championship dog show. 10am Cattle and Junior Judging in cattle.
Grand Parade Official Opening 1pm. Show Girl competition.
Damper competition, Junior to 12, 12-18yrs and Adult. Kid’s games all day. Stalls. Pavilion. Saturday BBQ from 12 noon. Sunday All Day BBQ, Devonshire Teas.

18th /19th May 2019. Woodenbong ADBA Trail Bike Ride

Woodenbong Showground. Free to public entry for Saturday for live entertainment, massive fireworks, (community fundraiser) food and bar.
All Welcome.
Organised by Woodenbong Progress Association and Run by Ray Buchanan of Australian Dirt Bike Adventures. The bikes range from Pee-Wee to full bikes and quads. Ranges from Novice, Juniors and Seniors catering for all levels of riders. The three trails range from juniors to 70km. The event is strictly monitored and has a “no rego, no ride policy” (Juniors Exempt). Woodenbong trail ride is prized as the signature event and has set the benchmark. A huge amount of money goes to the community from this event and camping fees plus local fundraising efforts allow many groups to benefit including Woodenbong Progress Association who feeds the monies back into the community.
