- The market has a quaint country atmosphere and is held in the heart of the village at the Woodenbong Public Hall and grounds in Unumgar Street, Woodenbong, handy to the Camping Grounds, Woodenbong Hotel for meals and accommodation, Golf Club, Shops, Craft Shops, Hardware for Camping requirements & LPG Gas and Petrol Outlets with Newsagency, Groceries and provides:
- wheelchair access
- accommodates indoor and outside stall sites (all weather venue)
- great variety of stalls which have a variety of products displayed
- hot food, with tea, espresso coffee and cold drinks available
- Live entertainment with our resident Musician: John Howley
[who has enough musical talent to please any listener] with a diverse repertoire while playing his guitar, banjo and mandolin, accompanied by Andy and a myriad of jammers who are more than welcome to bring their instruments and join in.
Public cafe seating under gazebo’s is supplied with tables and chairs for your comfort so you can ‘sit, relax, and enjoy listening to the music and enjoying lunch and refreshments.
- W.A.G. Woodenbong Arts group Inc. Meet at the market and display their arts and crafts, interact with the public and often have demonstrations showcasing their skills.
- Designed for a fun day for all the family including a Children’s Playground on site.
- Kids artworks are promoted to involve visiting children.
- A raffle for a “Dinner for 2” at the Woodenbong Hotel is run at every event.
Coaches and buses can be catered for with morning tea or lunch. Alternatively with the co-operation of the Woodenbong Hotel to arrange lunch sittings. Bookings essential.

John Howley has been entertaining the East Coast of a Australia for over 30 years in bands as diverse as the reggae fusion band of ‘Show of Hands’, country bands such as ‘Ridgy Didge’, Aussie bush band ‘The Boomerang Bush Band’, jazz and swing as ‘Platypus Kazoo’ and popular Oz Trad and Rock band ‘Oz Deli’.
Now semi-retired from the road, and living in Kyogle, John brings his unique talents to the ‘Woodenbong Yowie Country Market’ events.
John Plays Guitar, Mandolin, Didgeridoo, and Harmonica as well as singing. He is just as comfortable belting out a Van Morrison song or playing ‘Morrison’s Jig’ on the Mandolin. ‘Eagle Rock’ will get those toes tapping while Paul Kelly’s ‘Dumb Things’ and ‘To Her Door’ will swing you. John is an accomplished songwriter as well and has many memorable original songs to entertain you while you browse the many and varied stalls at the Market.

Max Melville has donated a wonderful handcrafted recycled timber piece for the special raffle. A spotted gum plant stand, the feet are cyprus pine, and the legs are recycled from a chair. Tickets are $2 and the draw will be at 2pm at the market on Sunday 26th April. Thanks for your support Max!
